Where did I leave Life's Manual?

Have you ever wondered where you left Life's manual?

I know mine is around here somewhere...

That would be an interesting concept. A forever changing personal manual on how to live in today's complex world. It would be accessible for light reading when a small issue needs some attention and you are wondering the appropriate means as to approach the topic without causing more problems for yourself and to others. It would also be accessible for heavy reading during the most difficult times in order to explain what would be best and how to handle things without going crazy.

A manual for life that would be personal for each individuals needs and desires without compromising on anyone else and their own needs, desires and lifestyle. Yet, with that, the rules to maneuver through this complex world of various religions, love, relationships, politics, greed, and corruption you could follow and be able to get what you want out of your life without hurting or inhibiting anyone else and their own needs and desires.

The manual would be continually updated and current and in relation to every other living entity in order to comply with the inherent, self evident, universal truths that exist underneath the ego based confusion. Those universal truths that get so misconstrued and misguided through the mishmash of conflicting ideas and ideals that exist in our world today. Something that we each could access at any given moment in order to guide us all through the maze of life.

If you have ever purchased anything from IKEA you might know that it is fairly easy to assemble their items by following their pictorial directions. Those directions that work despite any language necessary to be read. Although, if there are parts left over due to the assembly or packaging oversight, by the inclusion of extra screws or plastic hole plugs, the confusion begins and self doubt of what may have been overlooked takes hold.

But Life's manual would have no missing or extra parts. You have all you need in order to do for yourself and what it is you desire for your individual life. Sometimes it may be necessary to turn the page of the manual and move on to the next section, even though you may feel that there are things missing or incomplete. You might be thinking there are missing parts, but there are not. The parts are there. It all continues on. Sometimes there are moments when you might think that a problem is overwhelming and is out of control and you can't seem to find the page in the manual on what to do, but it might be on the next page and you just need to turn the page.

There are times when others try to tell you how to live your life, but their own directions and instructions are coming from a different manual, with a different set of desires and outcomes which make it irrelevant to your own manual and your own life. Our own manual is an individual set of rules and directions for each of us in order for us all to have what we all want and need and cannot be run using someone else's manual.

This manual would never be lost or stolen It could never be left under the sofa, or accidentally sold at a garage sale. It would be easy to pack or carry for a vacation or business trip. It could be seen clearly either in the daylight or the darkest of night. The manual would be visible even through the heaviest of tears to help you through some of life's hardest moments.

The manual would have all of the answers you would ever need, even if you quickly changed your mind. It would be instantly updated and transfer the appropriate information necessary so as you would always have the relevant instructions as you "do" your life.

The manual would give each of us those necessary instructions for our lives without creating discord for others. It would allow us all to live a harmonious existence regardless of each others paths we choose. It would matter not in a belief or dogmatic structure for any sort of solution.

I know it is around here somewhere. I had it once, I know I'll find it again.

The Writing is on the Wall

I thought that this, that I found online, was a valid means of deduction for those still on the edge of McDoom or Obama for President. Who is best qualified due to, or not, of their military service.

I agree with the writer, Madaline.

Her question is, "Name two things you know about McCain that says he is qualified to be the Commander-in-Chief of the United States military?" Before you make a fool of yourself let me eliminate some answers that would be “obvious” choices.

1. His military service. McCain’s military service would be relevant to the job of CIC. But essentially sitting out the Vietnam war by being a prisoner of war for 5 years does not qualify. Yes, he was a prisoner of war and that fact makes him eligible like thousands of other men and women in the US military who also were prisoners of war during the Vietnam conflict, for certain accommodations. But getting an automatic qualification as knowledgeable to be CIC is not one of them.

McCain’s military service does not show any instances in which he served as a leader of any group of men confronting the enemy. His military service gave him no experience in strategy or tactics. He has no military record showing that he ever trusted by any one above him in rank above him to lead his fellow soldiers in arms against an opposing force where it might be necessary for him to employ the use of strategy or tactics.

The only conclusion that can be reached is that he has no skills in that area that he can claim as superior to anyone else. That would include people men or women who have not had military experience. The simple truth is that the generals and other officers that are tasked with using their strategic and tactical skills to confront the military and other enemies of the USA have not demonstrated any faith in McCain’s ability to be able to do the same under combat conditions anymore than they have of non military personal.

Conclusion: His military service gives him no edge on anyone as to his qualifications to be the CIC of the USA. Men may imply otherwise so as to vicariously gain some edge with non military (especially gullible women) that their past military service gives them some particular incite on world affairs. Ladies it doesn’t!

2. His long service on in the Senate and serving on commissions tasked with making military decisions. - This does give one a lot of opportunity to amass the skills necessary to be CIC. BUT, if the person doesn’t have the mental capacity to learn what the opportunity presents, it is a wash. Here is where you will have to decide if his temperament has indicated whether he has the mental stability to have learned enough from that position and whether he has the ability to apply it to the position of CIC.

Most men who have not served in the military tend to be impressed by those who have when it comes to questions of military significance. Men who feel no need to apologize for their courage don’t. They can evaluate a situation based on the facts. Women are born capable of doing this. Yet, they voluntarily give up that critical thinking capacity to the shit for brains men they are with.

The result is a general acceptance that McCain has the edge over Obama when it comes to leading this country in a military crisis.

With McCain confined for much of his service in Vietnam, he held no positions of leadership, he held no positions military strategist, he held no positions of any military oversight of personnel. I do not, whatsoever, denounce his patriotism due to his service, but agree with the premise that he was a pilot shot down and held captive in deplorable conditions for years. He has received his honors and medals for this service. It does not constitute his leading the free world for this at all. There were hundreds, if not thousands of others that were in his same position, and some were held longer of which some were more highly decorated and perhaps, based on McCain's claim of qualifications would be perhaps more qualified for the position.

As noted, his service as a State Senator also, does not immediately imply that one is ready for the top position. It must be noted that the negotiating tactics, the temperament of a person, the health of a person, perhaps even the education of a person, must all be taken into consideration as to the full qualifications as well for this position.

McCain was near the bottom of his class, was known as a rebel in the Academy, he is known in the Senate to have a very short fuse in many negotiations, he is the oldest person who would be taking this position with a VP candidate that is not ready whatsoever for this task should something go wrong with McCain's health. It is widely known of the misuse of public funds, and friends (See yesterdays entry, and Google the Keating Five or see tomorrows entry) to which he has been associated with over the life of his service to the country, as well as, major Washington lobbyists to which he currently has on staff yet touts (lies) publicly that he will end this practice and is not a part of this practice.

The writing is on the wall, on the mirror he looks into when he spouts, written with lipstick that was used on a pig!

I'm conCERNed about religious dogma...

Let me get back to the running banter, again. Another thought was...

...with this CERN concept, that I've been discussing this past week, was to create a background to show that our scientists have enlightened us throughout history of some of the ridiculous concepts and ideas that no or un-education will do to a society. Religious dogma dominated, and in some ways continues to dominate, the free thought processes of our specie. It is like a negative political advertising campaign or a fear based political administration. By breeding religious doctrines and beliefs as truth, it begins to gestate within that dogmatic audience until it becomes dangerous. There is a saying, "it matters not", to which shows that whether the doctrine is true or not, if there is enough mis or dis information that can help to create the belief structure of the doctrine, the people can be led into or to do anything. This is exemplified through Hitler and numerous others over the history of our society.

Now, don't get all up in a bundle. I'm not comparing Hitler to any religious leader. But the point is that the following of any leader must be based on fact. When one is following any administration, doctrine or theory that is based on fact all of those beliefs pertaining to those beliefs can be substantiated and proven hereby allowing the freedom to think and act clearly to those belief structures.

This is not to say that doctrine or religion should not be followed unless there is definable proof. Religion is doctrine that has no proof. All religion is based on belief of doctrine. It is when the doctrine becomes dogma and gets in the way of people being able to think and act clearly as to their belief structure. Then what happens is that people begin to rely on that belief structure as truth, when it is not. People then begin to push their belief structure or their doctrine on to others and use the dogma as their defiant means of truth. This is where the danger lies.

This seems to me to be becoming more dynamic in our system of government, when our founding fathers distinctly stated that there would be a freedom of religion. They did not state that there would be a freedom of God. But the dangerous dogmatic leaders use that to help to substantiate a cause that is not or cannot be delivered as truth. Therein leading people by misinformation.

CERN, and its new massive Hadron Collider, is not only about the splitting atoms or finding the essence of the Big Bang, but it is the continuation of educating the specie to becoming more aware of the truths to our lives, our history and of our future.

Through the scientists desire for proof and truth to their theories and proclamations, they ended up creating new sciences that are the defining cutting edge to what we as a specie know and are able to prove. This has given way to seeing beyond the capacities of what we have previously known or thought possible. This has happened many times in our history. From many others we have experienced profound new ways of looking at our lives based on proof of thoughts that have become substantiated.

In 1633 Galileo was taken to Rome to stand trial before the Inquisition (Catholic Church) for heresy. The church did not want their power diminished by the truths that Galileo was professing. It shook the dogmatic mis and dis information that the church was delivering to uneducated people of the world. The church, or the power holder and administrations of the time believed that, if the people knew more of and began to believe the truth of science to their lives and the world around them, it would begin the demise of the church as an institution.

What CERN today is delivering to people all over the world is finding new questions to answers that already exist. There will be new truths substantiated which will raise more questions as well. But, CERN has delivered a new messenger to the people for their doctrines that they will be teaching. The Internet is an unbiased messenger that has no dogmatic preconceptions as to the content it is sending to educate the global populace. The science, thoughts, discoveries of any person is now being sent instantly for the world to see, process, and rethink for themselves. It allows the commoner or the butcher, baker, or cabinetmaker the opportunity to find the proof to their thoughts rather than taking the word of an administration or dogmatic structure as rote.

When Adam Smith describes the sovereign and the trader we can see that he is discussing the rich and powerful and the poor and uneducated. The sovereign need to make sure the uneducated do not have the answers so that the dominion can remain. The Catholic Church needed to make sure that the commoners wouldn't think further so they imprisoned Galileo and made him denounce his findings that the earth is not the center of our universe or that the earth travels around the sun, and that the sun is the center of our universe.

Due to Galileo and his quest for truth we know that the sun is the center of our galaxy and not even the center of our universe. It took hundreds of more years for the people as a masses to be able to enjoy that information. Today, we are able to research information instantly and disseminate information instantly and substantiate information instantly more that we ever have before.

Another day on Wall Street and Just another politician....

I thought that this following article would be a good one to show my readers.

I wanted to get into some of the dynamics of the Wall Street collapse of Merrill Lynch, AIG, and Lehman Bros., but will do that after a bit more research...I can say that one good thing that will come out of that situation is that the interest rates are going to go down, as bonds are rising.

So much for Sarah Palin's claim to be a maverick, someone who doesn't play politics the old-fashioned way. Now she is.

On Monday, John McCain's camp announced that Palin would not cooperate with a bipartisan investigation -- which includes an independent investigator -- of her role in firing Alaska's public safety commissioner.

A McCain campaign spokesman said Palin wouldn't take part "so long as it remained tainted and run by partisan individuals who have a predetermined conclusion."

He was referring to a Democratic state legislator involved in the probe who had said the case might produce criminal charges.

Unfortunately for Palin, she has told the American people she has nothing to hide in this case -- which means she ought to be cooperating fully.

Already, Palin is starting to look like all other politicians. She backtracks when things aren't going her way. She attacks anyone who doesn't agree with her.

And, in this particular case, she's inviting a subpoena for her testimony. If one comes in the next few weeks, Palin could be embroiled in a nasty legal affair touching on her veracity as governor just about the time Americans go to the polls in November.

Here is a response to the editorial from one of the readers;

I left the Christian Church some years ago. Hypocrisy and a flawed "salvation clause" were the clinchers. Saying they believe in the word of God for example while sending bombs and missles at innocent Iraqis (15,000 or more deaths) was too hypocritcal for me and the "all you have to do is ask for forgiveness" clause and all transgressions are swept under the carpet seemed like a blank check for evil - which unprovoked war, "holy" pedophiles, bigotted pastors, and the vile mud slinging politicians of the right bear out - all forgiven! Sarah Palin is the quintessential Right wing Christian politician - Says she's for transparency in government and tries a cover-up before she's even in office. She lauds family values and turns the child rearing over to nanny's and husband to pursue power. Lies about a bridge to nowhere - what else will she lie about? Don't worry, she's just another perfectly hypocritical Christian - she'll be forgiven. Already is apparently by her minions of like minded red necks ready to go to war with Russia. Geeez.. Wake up goons!

His Audacity of hope...

I give huge cuddos to Obama for doing what he is doing and his audacity of hope. To the capacity of what he has done, and to the character to which he has represented within this campaign. The lies, deception, and mis/disinformation that the McCant people spew is a travesty to the American people, the office for which he is attempting to gain, and the system of politics in general. I am simply amazed at the responses we are hearing from people regarding this campaign. I mean really!...

There was a 27 year old woman in Nevada, that was watching McCant's VP choice speak at her first solo rally in Carson City in front of approximately 3500 people. She is an unemployed barista from Yerington, NV, who held a sign that read "Hunter Chicks 4 Palin" on one side, and "Sarah Killed My Apathy" with a drawing of a deer rifle and a target on the other. She had supported Mitt Romney in the primary, said that she cried the day of McCant's VP's acceptance speech. "I think that it's great that the American people finally have a candidate who they can relate to, with morals," said Tracy, who said the issues she cares the most about are pro-life and the right to bear arms.

I know for a fact that Obama supports the right to bear arms, he just doesn't support the right to bear an automatic weapon that spews hundreds of bullets in a minute time frame. This kind of gun is unnecessary for a citizen to possess. The Constitution that expresses the right to bear arms was written when there was no true military in America. As a militia of commoners was needed at the time, the right to bear arms was a necessity in order to have the minutemen available to protect our freedoms in the early days of our country. This was back in 1770's when the muskets used shot once and took nearly 30 seconds to reload. The right to bear arms should still be a right for Americans, but the need for the automatic weapons on our streets is unnecessary and creates street violence rather than protects citizens.

The Pro life issue is another label of banter brought to the public through the right wing Repugnicants to create public discourse to sway the people's mindset to the far right without using direct religious connotations. It simply allows someone besides the person in need to make a decision for them on their behalf. In a case of rape or incest, as an example, McCant's VP choice states that she feels that the fetus should be born and the right of the woman has no say. I don't see how someone is able to enter the home of a private citizen and have the legal right to tell them they cannot eat this or that food in the privacy of their home, or discuss this topic or that topic at the dinner table, as it is illegal. That you can enter some one's private residence and tell them that they can only do it missionary style and no fellatio, or cunnilingus as it is a "deplorable" act. To be able to make these private decisions as to how they should live their private life, without their involvement. As we all know that religious political lobbying is where those debatable thoughts are coming from, this is NO separation of church and state. Obama, believes in freedom of choice, thus allowing another person the freedom to choose given their circumstance at the time. If a woman has been raped or a child has been involved in incest and is now pregnant, there is no reason that the rapist should have more rights than the female. It was NOT her decision to be in this position. With little to no sex education in schools any longer, and the average family unit has (maybe) two working parents, with little to no time left to parent any longer, as we can see and hear from any American today, it cannot only be left to the family to educate the young on sex. It should also be a part of societal responsibility. These children are to become the future of this country and we are leaving them behind!! They need to be taught to make rational and educated decisions on all aspects of their lives so as to hold a personal debate on their own thoughts and issues in order to summon an individual response. McCant's running mate is the perfect example of her own failed policy on this issue as her underage daughter is pregnant due to the mother's lack of attention to the child in order to educate her in abstinence, to which is the policy that she pronounces to the public as the best policy for sex education. The base that the Repugnicants state that they want less government and the government to be out of the person's life is bullshit propaganda!


How about the retired Republican Marine Corps pilot and LAPD homicide detective reverently invoke the names of Gloria Steinem and Bella Abzug. But Bob Lee, 73, of Reno, praised the VP pick as "the epitome of everything that I used to see Gloria [Steinem] and Bella Abzug promoting -- American women can be all things." He noted, "Sarah didn't make it on the coattails of her husband. Hillary [Clinton] rode the coattails of Bill." I don't see it?! This fact that people are claiming that McCan't's VP choice is like Gloria Steinem or Bella Abzug is absurd. Those women fought hard for the individual rights of women. Those women were true mavericks of their time who paved the way for women to be individual and independent citizens with the same rights and freedom's that men have. Abzug became a Congresswoman stating that, "A woman's place is in the house, the house of representatives!" Her father owned the "Live and Let Live Meat Market". She supported gay rights, women's rights, minority rights...Gloria Steinem is the voice of the modern American woman and an American Woman's rights activist icon. She was a Playboy Bunny, a journalist, and a labor rights activist. I don't understand how someone is able to compare them to this woman VP choice for the Repugnicant party who wants to limit women's rights, ban books, does not support gays or minorities causes. I don't see the correlation.

How about this guy who was having breakfast Friday morning at the counter at Paul's Restaurant in Whitehall, OH. This is a blue-collar suburb of Columbus and he is a retired aircraft designer named Richard Beard. He stressed that he knew all that he needed to know to vote against Obama. "Anyone who won't salute the flag or say the Pledge of Allegiance isn't worth voting for. And Obama doesn't have an American birth certificate or one that you can believe. The one from Hawaii is a fake." An original Ron Paul supporter with an NRA cap, would have been an unlikely Democratic voter even if Obama had been born in Ohio State. Smitten with Palin, Beard said, "She doesn't throw in any of that doublespeak like other politicians." Really?! I guess he is on the bridge to nowhere...perhaps he is hoping to get a financial handout from her earmarked funds she received for the state of Alaska...I'm sure he has experience in the immigration department to validate his statement that Obama's birth certificate is a fake...my god, where do these people come from?! Perhaps he just doesn't want to admit he is a racist! Plain and simple. Let the elephant out so all can see!

This is my reasoning to state that there are many Americans that are blinded by rhetoric and are incapable to think rationally and are part of the lemming society. Sad...

Can history finally teach us...

I have stated many, many times herein that for those that travel outside of the US, (Palin would NOT be one of them) know that the rest of world thinks that Americans are lemming idiots(McCant/Palin believe this to be true based on their continued lies and deception to win the White House). There is much of the time that I can tend to agree. I now can state, that based on the myriad of emails here that this rings so true.

Rome did fall, and history seems to teach us nothing, so perhaps it is America's time to dwindle. The flag waving right wingers will state that I am unpatriotic to say something like that, (although being a true patriot is challenging what our leaders are doing rather then simple saying...ok! Go ahead and fuck me some more...)but I would state back that you get what you vote for. And since America has voted like "stupid" lemmings we are in the mess we are in.

It's historically typical banter and style for the Repugnicants to lie, cheat and steal their way into office to which they fuck shit up during their tenure. Then the democrats come in with the need to raise taxes to save our country from the demise that a previous term(s) of Repugnicants have done. The people come to not see this as saving anything, then get irritated at the situation as soon as the Repugnicants begin again to lie, cheat and steal with mis/disinformation which eventually gets them back in to the White House to do the same shit all over again.

If more of our country learned to and actually read, people would begin to learn about history and the nations ills and why we are where we are at, and just why the rest of the world thinks so lowly of our people.

It is a sad Catch 22, and unless our educational system gets better funding and teachers to educate our decreasing graduating populace, we will continue the degrading of this great country to become the next Rome.

I do have optimism that Obama will rise and the people will wake up in time, in order to help turn a new page in this country's history. If this does not happen in the next 60 days, and our lemmings once again vote "stupid" and we inaugurate the McCant/Pain ticket I then feel that this country has had its last leg...We can see that, more or less of, the rest of the world is hoping that Obama come into office based on the many responses here, the showing in Germany, and more.

The current administration has been pondering their legacy in these last months as they begin to see their exit. What to put into their libraries and such. Maybe these guys just shouldn't have a library, since do to their FAILED "no child left behind" education plan, that has left more uneducated people to our society who can't read what will be in the library anyway...The fact that they should ponder is that they have plundered this country into the ground, continue to run it further into bankruptcy with the bank bailouts by the taxpayer monies, and left it to the dogs, without caring a bit and the world knows it. All the while smiling straight into our faces...Worse than that, the world know that we as an American populace watched it all happen, did nothing during the demise to stop their carnage. That is a shame!

As an American, I feel the urge to apologize to the world for the past 8 years. But, since the beginning of even the thought that Bush/Dick would be in office I have screamed as much as possible for that NOT to happen...but it did. The fact that it did, I apologize for that. Perhaps I didn't scream loud enough?!

At any rate, Obama will come in and begin to clean things up. Perhaps doing well enough for eight years. While we have a Democratic house and Senate we can really make some needed changes to help put not only this country back on a civilized track, but put us inline with the rest of the world to help turn the global community into a cohesive unit that can begin to make the needed changes that the world needs in order to survive. We are at a crucial moment in our planet history and if we do not heed the call not only will this modern Rome die, but it just might take this blue marble down with it...

Vote Obama/Biden for real change, not the fake change filled with lies, deceit, greed and oligarchy!

Just trying to get things straight...

With all of the different lies and misdeceptions and disinformation I am hoping to clear up all of the political madness…

Let me see if I have this straight…..

* If you grow up in Hawaii, raised by your grandparents, you’re ‘exotic, different.’
* If you grow up in Alaska eating moose burgers, you’re a quintessential American story.

* If your name is Barack, you’re a radical, unpatriotic Muslim.
* If you name your kids Willow, Trig and Track, you’re a maverick.

* If you graduate from Harvard law School, you are unstable.
* If you attend 5 different small colleges before graduating, you’re well grounded.

* If you spend 3 years as a brilliant community organizer, become the first black President of the Harvard Law Review, create a voter registration drive that registers 150,000 new voters, spend 12 years as a Constitutional Law professor, spend 8 years as a State Senator representing a district with over 750,000 people, become chairman of the state Senate’s Health and Human Services committee, spend 4 years in the United States Senate representing a state of 13 million people while sponsoring 131 bills and serving on the Foreign Affairs, Environment and Public Works and Veteran’s Affairs committees, you don’t have any real leadership experience.
* If your total resume is: local weather girl, 4 years on the city council and 6 years as the mayor of a town with less than 7,000 people, 20 months as the governor of a state with only 650,000 people, then you’re qualified to become the country’s second highest ranking executive.

* If you have been married to the same woman for 19 years while raising 2 beautiful daughters, all within Protestant churches, you’re not a real Christian.
* If you cheated on your first wife with a rich heiress, and left your disfigured wife and married the heiress the next month, you’re a Christian.

* If you teach responsible, age appropriate sex education, including the proper use of birth control, you are eroding the fiber of society.
* If, while governor, you staunchly advocate abstinence only, with no other option in sex education in your state’s school system, while your unwed teen daughter ends up pregnant , you’re very responsible.

* If your wife is a Harvard graduate lawyer who gave up a position in a prestigious law firm to work for the betterment of her inner city community, then gave that up to raise a family, your family’s values don’t represent America’s.
* If you’re husband is nicknamed ‘First Dude’, with at least one DWI conviction and no college education, who didn’t register to vote until age 25 and once was a member of a group that advocated the secession of Alaska from the USA, your family is extremely admirable.

OK, *much* clearer now.

I wish our press core would get a backbone and simply ask the relevant policy questions to which then all of the personality doodoo would get answered in its appropriate due time (fast) and without all of the fluff that covers everything. But, then we would find the truth so revealing that there would then be no need for a vote. The Repugnicants did quite well with their lies and disinformation during the Bush campaigns, but this is rediculous. If we can see all of the shit that is being thrown around this time the the Repugnicants, what does that show us that would take place in their White House…?

Just get to the basics and the rest will easily take care of itself. Obama and Biden can certainly stand on their own when it is against the truth for both campaign rivals.

Maybe the corporate press will get a backbone someday…

Sarah Palin had on the Republican convention in Minneapolis this week. On the surface, she outdoes former Vice President Dan Quayle as an unlikely choice, given her negligent parochial expertise in the complex affairs of governing. Her state of Alaska has less than 700,000 residents, which reduces the job of governor to the scale of running one-tenth of New York City. By comparison, Rudy Giuliani is a towering international figure. Palin’s pluck has been admired, and her forthrightness, but her real appeal goes deeper.

She is the reverse of Barack Obama, in essence his shadow, deriding his idealism and turning negativity into a cause for pride. In psychological terms the shadow is that part of the psyche that hides out of sight, countering our aspirations, virtue, and vision with qualities we are ashamed to face: anger, fear, revenge, violence, selfishness, and suspicion of “the other.” For millions of Americans, Obama triggers those feelings, but they don’t want to express them. He is calling for us to reach for our higher selves, and frankly, that stirs up hidden reactions of an unsavory kind. (Just to be perfectly clear, I am not making a verbal play out of the fact that Sen. Obama is black. The shadow is a metaphor widely in use before his arrival on the scene.) I recognize that psychological analysis of politics is usually not welcome by the public, but I believe such a perspective can be helpful here to understand Palin’s message. In her acceptance speech Gov. Palin sent a rousing call to those who want to celebrate their resistance to change and a higher vision
Look at what she stands for:

* Small town values — a nostaligic return to simpler times disguises a denial of America’s global role, a return to petty, small-minded parochialism.
* Ignorance of world affairs — a repudiation of the need to repair America’s image abroad.
* Family values — a code for walling out anybody who makes a claim for social justice. Such strangers, being outside the family, don’t need to be needed.
* Rigid stands on guns and abortion — a scornful repudiation that these issues can be negotiated with those who disagree.
* Patriotism — the usual fallback in a failed war.
* ”Reform” — an italicized term, since in addition to cleaning out corruption and excessive spending, one also throws out anyone who doesn’t fit your ideology.

Palin reinforces the overall message of the reactionary right, which has been in play since 1980, that social justice is liberal-radical, that minorities and immigrants, being different from “us” pure American types, can be ignored, that progressivism takes too much effort and globalism is a foreign threat. The radical right marches under the banners of “I’m all right, Jack,” and “Why change? Everything’s OK as it is.” The irony, of course, is that Gov. Palin is a woman and a reactionary at the same time. She can add mom to apple pie on her resume, while blithely reversing forty years of feminist progress. The irony is superficial; there are millions of women who stand on the side of conservatism, however obviously they are voting against their own good. The Republicans have won multiple national elections by raising shadow issues based on fear, rejection, hostility to change, and narrow-mindedness

Obama’s call for higher ideals in politics can’t be seen in a vacuum. The shadow is real; it was bound to respond. Not just conservatives possess a shadow — we all do. So what comes next is a contest between the two forces of progress and inertia. Will the shadow win again, or has its furtive appeal become exhausted? No one can predict. The best thing about Gov. Palin is that she brought this conflict to light, which makes the upcoming debate honest. It would be a shame to elect another Reagan, whose smiling persona was a stalking horse for the reactionary forces that have brought us to the demoralized state we are in. We deserve to see what we are getting, without disguise.

Is this how to run a campaign?! Saddening!!

Some of this may be difficult to watch, but the Repugnicants didn't think so. Due to their continued massive campaign to breed fear into the eyes, hearts and minds of the American public they showed this video at their convention. Although, the party and administration decided to NOT GO AFTER THE PARTIES INVOLVED IN THESE ATTACKS, and instead invaded a sovereign country, they still use this as the cornerstone of their campaign as if they have done good or right to and by any American.




This is the public apology to Americans, by Keith Olberman during the convention, for the Repugnicant's misuse of this tragedy for their own benefit. Once again proving to the American people that they have no regard for anyone but themselves and their party's success to the path to the White House.





Wake up America!! See the writing on the wall of the self centered, criminals that these people are with no regard to anyone but themselves.

I follow with the Sarah Palin story of the birth of her latest child to exemplify this point:

I heard the story of Sarah Palin and the birth of her latest kid on NPR radio. She was giving a speech in Dallas. Shortly before she was to take the stage for this speech her water broke. She was concerned that she couldn’t give the speech, as she wanted to badly. After discussion with her doctor in Alaska, she gave the speech. After the speech, any responsible mother-to-be knowing her age and the fact that she knew the child had down syndrome, would have gone to the nearest hospital. Not Sarah. No, she is “the young maverick”! She got into her car and was driven past three Children’s Hospitals in the Dallas area as they went to the airport. Upon reaching the airport she got on a plane without any concern as to the care of the other passengers, let alone the safety of the birthing child. That is due to her age, her fifth birth, down syndrome child, she got on the plane without regard to anyone else’s schedule just in case there were issues and the plane would have to do an emergency landing on her behalf. The plane went on to Seattle. One would think that then a responsible mother-to-be would find the nearest hospital as she was well into a fourth hour of labor timelines now. No, not Sarah, she is “the young maverick”! She waited another hour for the next plane to Anchorage. She got onto this plane, once again with no regard to the passengers or the baby but only herself, as she wanted the baby to be born in her small town in Alaska. Once they reach Anchorage, and upon driving through to reach her little town approx 45 minutes away , they pass by another two hospitals through Anchorage. The mother-to-be, knowing that she has a child with special needs (to which she cut the funding for in Alaska by 62% until she realized that she would be having a child with these needs) keeps going until she reaches the small town that has the largest Meth lab concentration in the state, in order to have her child.

This is a simple scene of the ignorance and arrogance of the Repugnicant VP. This example and others, such as the fact that she fired the local librarian after the woman refused to ban certain books from the library that Sarah wanted banned. The librarian was reinstated only after a public outcry…

There is the other story that Sarah and family were in DisneyLand and upon the sighting of “Goofey”, Sarah shot him…I am still checking to see if this story is true… ;-)

I'm sorry, did John McCain say something? I couldn't stay awake on that one! I knew he wasn't a good public speaker, but damn!

I think we are going to see that the Repugnicants are going to be scrambling. Bush and his team that covertly created the chaos in Georgia in order to make McCant look better as a war president in the eyes of the public, are getting found out. They have pissed on Georgia, Putin, Japan, China, Koreas, and more to come as they try to make sure a Repugnicant gets back into office. There is not a chance in hell that Bush wants to find himself on the back side of prosecution as Obama and Biden have stated that they are going to press for criminal charges.

Remember the hanging chads, and miscount votes. It will make all of that look like child's play. Accountability my ass!!!

Political hypocricy!

This is an educational and enlightening video that shows the hypocrisy of politics. It is amazing that people refuse to see through the rhetoric and only listen to the mis/dis-information that spews from the far right of this country.



I only hope that the voting public remembers the strain that this administration has placed upon our country through the illegalities that have transpired since day one eight years ago, the lies, the deceit, the reduction of our constitutional rights, the massive expansion of our debt, the murder and war of hundreds of thousands of lives, the lame attention to Katrina, the lame attention to our economy. This is the most failed administration this country has ever seen. Having McCain will only bring more Republican partisan ideas to the system and maintain the current failed status quo.

Obama's tax ideas to save a country...

		while John McCant, who has publicly stated that he is not the best person to ask financial questions to, as well as, he has no idea how many homes he owns, as well as, when we was asked what he thinks constitutes being rich he stated he thinks that $5M in income per year... He will put this country into a tailspin for decades leaving our children and their children's children left to scrape up the mess. It's quite simple, from the financial side of politics, if you make $5M a year or more you might want to vote for McCain. Otherwise, you would be wise to vote for Obama. That leaves out approx. 99.07% of the people...This has nothing to say regarding women's rights issues, the fact that McCain has no idea what some country's are and where they are. As Biden, the great new pick for Democratic VP, has stated that just because John is a war hero does not mean he is ready for president. I agree!! Martin Kozlowski Overall, Sen. Obama's middle-class tax cuts are larger than his partial rollbacks for families earning over$250,000, making the proposal as a whole a net tax cut and reducing revenues to less than 18.2% of GDP -- the level of taxes that prevailed under President Reagan. Both candidates for president have proposed tax plans. But they are starkly different in their approaches and their economic impact. Sen. Obama is focused on cutting taxes for middle-class families and small businesses, and investing in key areas like health, innovation and education. He would do this while cutting unnecessary spending, paying for his proposals and bringing down the budget deficit. In contrast, John McCain offers what would essentially be a third Bush term, with his economic speeches outlining $3.4 trillion of tax cuts over 10 years beyond what President Bush has already proposed and geared even more to high-income earners. The McCain plan would lead to deficits the likes of which we have never seen in this country. It would take money from the middle class and from future generations so that the wealthy can live better today. Sen. Obama believes a focus on the middle class is appropriate in the wake of the first economic expansion on record where the typical family's income fell by almost $1,000. The Obama plan would cut taxes for 95% of workers and their families with a tax cut of $500 for workers or $1,000 for working couples. In addition, Sen. Obama is proposing tax cuts for low- and middle-income seniors, homeowners, the uninsured, and families sending a child to college or looking to save and accumulate wealth. The Obama plan would dramatically simplify taxes by consolidating existing tax credits, eliminating the need for millions of senior citizens to file tax forms, and enabling as many as 40 million middle-class filers to do their own taxes in less than five minutes and not have to hire an accountant. Sen. Obama also recognizes that small businesses are the engine of job growth in the economy. That is why he is proposing additional tax cuts, including a tax credit for small businesses that provide health care, and the elimination of capital gains taxes for small businesses and start-ups. The vast majority of small businesses would face lower taxes under the Obama plan than under the McCain plan. In addition, Sen. Obama supports reforming corporate taxes in a manner that would help create jobs in America and simplify the tax code by eliminating distortions and special preferences. Sen. Obama believes that responsible candidates must put forward specific ideas of how they would pay for their proposals. That is why he would repeal a portion of the tax cuts passed in the last eight years for families making over $250,000. But to be clear: He would leave their tax rates at or below where they were in the 1990s. - The top two income-tax brackets would return to their 1990s levels of 36% and 39.6% (including the exemption and deduction phase-outs). All other brackets would remain as they are today. - The top capital-gains rate for families making more than $250,000 would return to 20% -- the lowest rate that existed in the 1990s and the rate President Bush proposed in his 2001 tax cut. A 20% rate is almost a third lower than the rate President Reagan set in 1986. - The tax rate on dividends would also be 20% for families making more than $250,000, rather than returning to the ordinary income rate. This rate would be 39% lower than the rate President Bush proposed in his 2001 tax cut and would be lower than all but five of the last 92 years we have been taxing dividends. - The estate tax would be effectively repealed for 99.7% of estates, and retained at a 45% rate for estates valued at over $7 million per couple. This would cut the number of estates covered by the tax by 84% relative to 2000. Overall, in an Obama administration, the top 1% of households -- people with an average income of $1.6 million per year -- would see their average federal income and payroll tax rate increase from 21% today to 24%, less than the 25% these households would have paid under the tax laws of the late 1990s. Sen. Obama believes that one of the principal problems facing the economy today is the lack of discretionary income for middle-class wage earners. That's why his plan would not raise any taxes on couples making less than $250,000 a year, nor on any single person with income under $200,000 -- not income taxes, capital gains taxes, dividend or payroll taxes. In contrast, Sen. McCain's tax plan largely leaves the middle class behind. His one and only middle-class tax cut -- a slow phase-in of a bigger dependent exemption -- would provide no benefit whatsoever to 101 million families who do not have children or other dependents, or who have a low income. But Sen. McCain's plan does include one new proposal that would result in higher taxes on the middle class. As even Sen. McCain's advisers have acknowledged, his health-care plan would impose a $3.6 trillion tax increase over 10 years on workers. Sen. McCain's plan will count the health care you get from your employer as if it were taxable cash income. Even after accounting for Sen. McCain's proposed health-care tax credits, this plan would eventually leave tens of millions of middle-class families paying higher taxes. In addition, as the Congressional Budget Office has shown, this kind of plan would push people into higher tax brackets and increase the taxes people pay as their compensation rises, raising marginal tax rates by even more than if we let the entire Bush tax-cut plan expire tomorrow. The McCain plan represents Bush economics on steroids. It has $3.4 trillion more in tax cuts than President Bush is proposing, largely directed at corporations and the most affluent. Sen. McCain would implement these cuts without proposing any meaningful steps to simplify taxes or eliminate distortions and loopholes. In addition, Sen. McCain has floated over $1 trillion in new spending increases but barely any specific spending cuts. As previously mentioned, the Obama plan is a net tax cut -- his middle-class tax cuts are larger than the rollbacks he has proposed for families making over $250,000. Sen. Obama would pay for this tax cut by cutting spending -- including responsibly ending the war in Iraq, reducing excessive payments to private plans in Medicare, limiting payments for high-income farmers, reducing subsidies for banks that make student loans, reforming earmarks, ending no-bid contracts, and eliminating other wasteful and unnecessary programs. While Sen. Obama would shrink the deficit from its current record levels, he recognizes that it is even more important to confront our long-term fiscal challenges, including the growth of health costs in the public and private sector. He also believes it is critical to work with members of Congress from both parties to strengthen Social Security while protecting middle-class families from tax increases or benefit cuts. He has done what few presidential candidates have been willing to do by making a politically risky proposal to strengthen solvency by asking those making over $250,000 to contribute a bit more to Social Security to keep it sound. Sen. Obama does not support uncapping the full payroll tax of 12.4% rate. Instead, he is considering plans that would ask those making over $250,000 to pay in the range of 2% to 4% more in total (combined employer and employee). This change to Social Security would start a decade or more from now and is similar to the rate increases floated by Sen. McCain's close adviser Lindsey Graham, and that Sen. McCain has previously said he "could" support. In contrast, Sen. McCain has put forward the most fiscally reckless presidential platform in modern memory. The likely results of his Bush-plus policies are clear. As Berkeley economist Brad Delong has estimated, the McCain plan, as compared to the Obama plan, would lower annual incomes by $300 billion or more in real terms by 2017, costing the typical worker $1,800 or more due to the effect of large deficits on national savings and thus capital formation. Sen. McCain's neglect of critical public investments would further impede economic growth for decades to come. Do not take the critics' word for it. The Olympic spirit is in us all...

The Olympics have a tendency to substantially penetrate the consciousness of our society every four years. We are a country with the strong desires to win, to conquer, to be the best, that the concept of being like an Olympian is a dominating force within many aspects of our lives.

I know that I always enjoy the news feeds and short clips of inspirational stories with so many of these athletes. The stories that tell the plight of the fallen spirit or beaten athlete that learns from the hurdles that life has thrown them to become the phoenix that their spirit embodies and rise from the struggle to become one of the best in the world, at whatever it is that they might be doing.

Dara Torres is an amazing athlete. She is competing in her 5th Olympiad. This in its own right is an amazing accomplishment. She has become the physical specimen that any person from their teens and on would enjoy. Her work is exemplary to becoming a champion. After her last Olympics she was 33 years old and felt as if she had nothing left to prove. With her neck filled with numerous medals and awards she retired and set out for what was to be next. Upon the realization that she is a swimmer, she decided to return to the Olympics and try again. Now at 41, she has returned to the arenas and pools to show her drive and determination to be the best.

Another American athlete named Raj Bhavsar is ready to show the world his spirit. After the 2004 Olympics to which he was an alternate he set out to find the missing link to his life. He delved deeper into his meditation and yoga practices to open up the more spiritual side of himself. In that process he has unlocked the soft, resilient, master of his artform while finding the peace and concentration necessary to become the champion.

He agrees with the Olympic motto: “The important thing in the Olympics is not to win but to take part, just as in life the important thing is not the triumph but the struggle.” Most athletes that go to the Olympics lose in their competition. Most athletes in any competetive sport lose to a point that they don't even get the chance to make it to the Olympics. It is not about the winning. It is about the personal spirit to become the best that we all can be at whatever it is we choose to do.

To take the struggles and use them as fuel and learn from them to become a better person, this is where life's juice is. It takes courage to pick yourself up, dust yourself off and rise above the ashes and become the phoenix of your life. If this says anything is that there is an Olympian in all of us. Perhaps the Olympics has come at the perfect time for America. It is time for our country to see this and experience this kind of energy. It is time that we find the gold in the dust of our country's past seven years and rise to meet the occasion to become a better people, a better society with a more open and inspiring agenda to the world.

Well, I think we have now seen it all. I think I said that last week too...

When Kennedy was running for President and became the first Presidential candidate on television it was clear then that this forum would be a new a powerful medium to get politics to the broad populace. Plus, it helped that he looked good, spoke good, had good ideas, was successful, and had a great looking wife and kids...

Well, now 45 years later, we have a new horizon. Is what it took then good enough for the White House. Obama, looks good, speaks good, has some good ideas, is successful, has a good looking wife and kids, I'd say yes...McCain doesn't really look good anymore, doesn't speak well, doesn't really have good ideas, has a good looking wife...is this enough for the White House?

On June 5th, 2008 the Senate intelligence committee has released their Phase II report on pre-war intelligence on Iraq. To no one’s surprise, it confirms that the Bush administration’s rationale for the war in Iraq was founded almost entirely on mendacity and disinformation:

* Statements and implications by the President and Secretary of State suggesting that Iraq and al-Qa’ida had a partnership, or that Iraq had provided al-Qa’ida with weapons training, were not substantiated by the intelligence.
* Statements by the President and the Vice President indicating that Saddam Hussein was prepared to give weapons of mass destruction to terrorist groups for attacks against the United States were contradicted by available intelligence information.
* Statements by President Bush and Vice President Cheney regarding the postwar situation in Iraq, in terms of the political, security, and economic, did not reflect the concerns and uncertainties expressed in the intelligence products.
* Statements by the President and Vice President prior to the October 2002 National Intelligence Estimate regarding Iraq’s chemical weapons production capability and activities did not reflect the intelligence community’s uncertainties as to whether such production was ongoing.
* The Secretary of Defense’s statement that the Iraqi government operated underground WMD facilities that were not vulnerable to conventional airstrikes because they were underground and deeply buried was not substantiated by available intelligence information.
* The Intelligence Community did not confirm that Muhammad Atta met an Iraqi intelligence officer in Prague in 2001 as the Vice President repeatedly claimed.

You can't handle the truth!

Remember when Jack Nicholson played the part of the General, as Tom Cruise cross examined him, in the movie "A Few Good Men"? Where Tom got Jack heated to a point where the General lost his temper? Tom was grilling him over a soldiers apparent accidental death asking the General for the truth stating that we as a society deserve at least that. Then the General screamed "You can't handle the truth!"

The Declaration of Independence says “...we hold these truths to be self evident.” The thought behind this statement shows that these thinkers and policy makers of their time thought that there was a truth.(note: we know that the same men writing these words at the time owned slaves, but I use this to make a point) That there was an undeniable meaning behind thoughts and statements that would be either based on facts or based on inherent or undeniable universal laws. As there is truth, there is also, now, truth by proxy. Today, our society, that being America, has become a people that hold truth to be a collective idea.

Can we find real truth today?

As we now seem to hold truth as a collective, we have become a society that is set more on feeling good about our world than actually knowing about our world. The science behind evolution is being diluted with the right wing propaganda of creationism or intelligent design. However, science is based on fact and creationism and intelligent design are based on belief. These are two very different means of conclusion.

Ayn Rand, author of The Fountainhead and Atlas Shrugged, believed that truth exists independently of the minds and opinions of people. That there was an underlying universal self evident truth that existed beyond the scope of society and its collective manipulations that can cloud the value of universal truth.

It seems that truth can be manipulated by proclamation. Through continuous self serving statements the use of collective intelligence can make a non reality the opposite. As we watch this current political process unfold we must stay aware of the proclamations and the manipulations of truth since, as a collective populace, we do not take the time to educate ourselves to statements that are thrown into the public consciousness. There is a reality beyond our will and we must respect it if we want to succeed.(1) As we have seen in the past, and it has become much more pronounced with this recent administration that the truth can be manipulated and self serving. And look at the results...

When our elected representatives nearly unanimously allowed this current administration to invade Iraq the checks and balances of our democracy were torn. Allowing this, with a judicial branch that stands behind the Bush agenda shows the danger we have allowed ourselves to become. Our representatives did not call on the facts, did not listen to the facts (as we find that nearly all of the facts were heresay, manipulated, and falsified) and did not take the time as outlined in our Constitution to allow for the truth to come out and be verified. Through the collective emotion and the administrations manipulated truth by proclamation the Cheney, Rumsfeld, and Bush team have subsequently taken our country into a never ending war on terror. Immediately after 9-11 the statements at that time were a war on terrorism. Over a short calculated time frame this was reworded to be a war on terror. The collective intelligence was blinded by the collective emotions of the society. As the truth can be manipulated to the extent that the outcomes can dictate our will depends directly on the extent that our understanding dictates reality.

In a democracy it is the people that have to keep the elected officials and political operatives honest and on point. This is where America is slipping. We are losing our grip as the politicians have learned and become quite astute at giving us only the information that will make us feel good rather than the truth of situations. As a society, it seems, we cannot come to face the realities that exist around us which is why most people get their current event news from late night comedian shows. They would rather feel good as they get a little information. There is a saying that “information is power”. It seems that our current state of society seems to choose to be powerless. Perhaps this is why during the past 16 months of Presidential campaigning we have not heard much dialogue on policy or global issues, but more character issues seem to be dominate. There would be light discussions on talking points to make sure that the public knew what they were supposed to be concerned about...

We have become a society that holds truth to be collective intelligence and self serving. We are a Wikipedia society. It seems ironic how Wikipedia has become such an ingrained and integral part of our international society and Internet experience for finding and distributing information. This information being as a collective. The old school of thought that truth and reality were fixed and objectively knowable is going away. Through libertarian thinkers like, Friedrich von Hayek, who says that decentralized markets work best because they are so much more efficient than centralized bureaucracies at digesting information.(2) Although, given the deregulated markets of telecommunications and energy, as an example, there may be room to disagree. Although, we are now not discussing capitalism or markets we are discussing knowledge and truth.

We are a society that is concerned much more with success rather than truth. Due to this we have become a society that is much more concerned with feeling good rather than dealing with the unpleasantness of our society. We see examples of this with the nature of our economic situation to date. We are not looking at the root causes of the ills of our society rather we are looking for band-aids or bailouts. I recently had an interesting conversation with a banker of a global banking institution regarding the Bear Stearn bailout. Perhaps, he pined, if we unveiled the truths behind this transaction we might find more evidence of a truth we would rather not know and believe. Upon some recent meetings to which he had attended he found some interesting clues to market manipulation and conspiracy. It seems that the global money laundering empire of the elite global families like the Rothchild's, Rockefeller's, Bush, and more was about to become exposed if this financial institution were to go bankrupt. As the court documents of this failed institution would have allowed the bank's books to become public knowledge the Amerikan power mongers manipulated the system for JP Morgan to come to the rescue using government backed guarantees. Upon this the public is non the wiser and the propaganda machine gives a manipulated truth to become a collective truth.

The truth will set us free!? We live in an open cage with a very fragile glass ceiling.

Barack, it is time!

Barack has made such an example of leader through this trying primary season and would be a great President. Obama's historical position would help solidify a huge part of a broken Amerika. It would raise discussions that our country has failed to make or follow through with. His LACK of experience might be just what our country
needs. Sometimes knowing all of the rules can stifle creativity and growth...

If we can get a democrat and keep the houses blue for at least one full term or six more years our country has a chance to turn itself around a bit. The reds and their factions have turned this country so far back...

As a country that should be setting global examples of how to create a great society, at this point globally, we have failed our students. We need to wake up and realize that the government is a reflection of our society and what we do there, and accomplish there has a direct correlation to us as a whole. When the government is in deep debt due to a war or the like, we find that the citizens are not saving and being told to spend and they also go further into debt as well. With spending and foreclosures at astronomical highs it is a wakeup call. Our retiring community, in
the latter part of the boomer generation, little to hold on with as far as retirement or planning. It is NOT the government's responsibility to make sure all is ok for everyone when they retire, but helping people with their lives is. A government is to set examples of how our society is to live and govern itself. Yet, so many of our politicians are greedy, selfish, criminal, murdering, philandering, self centrist, egomaniacs it is difficult to change it from the inside out. When we have 0 accountability at the top, this is one of the key points that needs change. Bush and his crew should be sent to prison for what they have done in countries around the world, and for the lies and conspiracies they promulgated to their own people.

When we openly and globally discuss fairness and equality and we are awaken to the sites of Abu Grab, Guantanamo Bay and the Vet hospitals, etc. we find that talking through ones ass is an accepted practice and it is okay to do so. This does not set good examples for our society and its children. Nor does is set a good example for the world to trust us and work together to make this small planet a whole system that can work together for the betterment of the human species and our environment.

Barack would be a great wake up call and I feel his energy would make for a new America. Obama is willing and creative enough to take the risks necessary to turn
this country into a new direction and make the negators of those ideals accountable.
