Change has come to America!

In case you haven't heard, we have a new President elect...
Barack Hussein Obama!




The history that was made during this election campaign has shown the world that this country was not a total lost cause. We were able to pull together the people power to vote and make the votes heard despite the valiant efforts to thwart the elections and the process, as was done in previous elections. Barack did not follow the campaign into the territory that his opponent tried to take it but failed to do so, which was the race card. It was discussed and made a part of the campaign, and was an issue, but Obama would have nothing to do with it as a barrier for his success. There is no more Bradley effect, there is no more Wilder effect, but there is a new President elect!

I was talking with some friends last night, during the celebration of our new President elect Obama, that I thought that it would not be him that makes the change necessary for this country, but the country itself that will make the change. This is also what he alluded to within his acceptance speech and other stump speeches throughout the campaign trail. As one person was saying that she thought we should all be very careful and not make Obama into some kind of Christ like figure, as if he can cure all of the nations ills.

What I thought his new position and expertly run campaign exemplified was that he showed everyone that he had the power to hold this country’s new desire and vision to make the changes that he talked about daily on his campaign trail. He simply ignited what this world wants this country to bring forward. He was able to put feeling and words to what the country as a whole was looking for after these past 8 years of failed politics, policies and dreams. He has ignited what this country was yearning for, was asking for, and what the country voted for. His position is to simply hold that vision in order for the country and its people to maintain the reserve, capability and desire in order to manifest the massive changes that are necessary to move this country forward.

He has shown this quality of being the Commander in Chief through his ability to take the pot shots that the McCain campaign threw at him. He was able to see beyond, and help others see beyond the old politics as usual processes that his opponent was using for their campaign.

Obama has shown the country and the world the power of forward thinking and brought together a new mass of young, internet savvy people into politics. By creating a large group of new registered voters that have become excited about the process of politics has not happened in a very long time. He has shown that the process of campaign or policy information distribution has changed through the transforming power of the internet and viral marketing efforts that his staff understands.

Change happens, always. Most people are uncomfortable with change, as it is the unknown. But what has transpired now is that we have a new leader that is able to hold the vision of change for the country to take it on. Much like President John F Kennedy did when he sparked the mission for the people to put a man on the moon. This is a new vision for a new time that we as a people of this country will need to muster this new mission with this new leader who has shown that he is able to hold that vision in order for the people to take on the necessary actions to complete whatever tasks this country needs to right itself and get things heading toward a brighter future.

McCain, Bush, Keating, Cheney, Paulson, we could go on...

It is difficult for nearly anyone to fully grasp the repercussions of the current economic fallout. Most people don't know or understand the story of when, how, who, where, and why it took shape. We all want to know and understand, but it's complexity is beyond the scope of most people.

What I can say is that it is going to be a very bumpy ride for quite a long time for many. I believe we are at a tipping point of our current process of capitalism, as we know it. As a democratic society we are instituting much more of an elitist socialist process and an increasingly more restricted political process likened much more to communistic or dictatorship style governance.

This is all being done through elected officials?! such irony...

Right before our eyes we are seeing the definitive aspects of our democratically elected, capitalistic society that for a period of time, in the 1940's-1960's to much of the world's view, our country was the envy and forward leading nation on the planet. There was a respect that was earned for its time with the creation of community and societal programs such as Medicare, or Social Security, and unemployment benefits, and other social or entitlement programs available. It seemed that people actually cared about other people for a while.

That is until Reagan took office and Republican party began their "Me, me, me" policies shrouded with the religious rhetoric to make people think they are doing the right thing.

The funny thing is the history of the Republican party began with the leftist and in the late 1800's and early 1900'2 turned to the right. Now, there is no more right to turn to. Te party has become as far right as anyone can get. This has alienated many of the party as they can see some of the colors of the coat as it is taken off and exposed through the terribly run campaign from McCain, as well as, the Bush campaigns and failed administration.

But, we will see as history begins to unfold in the future that the past thirty years or so of Republican party players have raped and pillaged the American people of their money and rights to a point of quiet dictatorship and socialist elitism. This distribution of wealth that McCain seems to tout daily has been exemplified by what has transpired through his actions, Bush, Bernanke, Paulson, Cheney, and many others. I'm sure their off shore accounts are now filled to the brim with green. Their Bailout or Rescue plans have given billions to the top 1% right in front of everyone. All the while they tout they are doing it all for the taxpayer...

America's Dark Horse

There is a term in competition called, Dark Horse. This is one who is nominated unexpectedly, without previously having been discussed or considered as a likely choice. Often a dark horse is selected as a compromise when other, more prominent candidates' factions cannot come to an agreement. This metaphoric expression originally alluded to an unknown horse winning a race and was so used in a 1831 novel by Benjamin Disraeli titled "The Young Duke".

There is another book called "Dark Horse", written by Ralph Reed. It is his first book and a political thriller. Reed used to be the head of the Christian Coalition. His characters in the book clearly show the sexist views that he has had for years. His female characters are either alcoholics or sex fiends, and the males characters are white, power monger, religious men (which all seems somewhat contradictory from such a religious man...or is he?...) He did get his friends to write great reviews for him, though. Karl Rove, Sean Hannity, and Robert Novak seemed to love it, as I'm sure they see much of themselves in it...I rest my case...

I would imagine that both parties might feel that they have a dark horse running in this election. With McCain coming from behind for a while to finally take the lead after the Repug party totally ignored anything Ron Paul was saying, although he was pulling 28% approval ratings until the convention.

I am confindent that this years Dark Horse will be Barack Obama.

Don't wear anything....!

Please, please, please advise everyone you know that they absolutely can NOT go to the polls wearing any Obama (or whoever you are voting for) shirts, pins, hats, etc. It is AGAINST THE LAW and will be grounds to have the polling officials to turn you away. This is considered campaigning and no one can campaign within X amount of feet of the polls. They are counting on us being overly excited and not being aware of this long standing law that you can bet will be ENFORCED THIS YEAR!!!!! They are banking that if you are turned away, you will not go home and change your clothes and return to the polls to vote. Please just don't wear ANY gear of any sorts to the polls! Please share this information with as many people as you can. If you are already aware of this, please don't take it as insulting your intelligence. Have a great day and see you at the polls on November 4th
