Have you ever wondered where you left Life's manual?
I know mine is around here somewhere...
That would be an interesting concept. A forever changing personal manual on how to live in today's complex world. It would be accessible for light reading when a small issue needs some attention and you are wondering the appropriate means as to approach the topic without causing more problems for yourself and to others. It would also be accessible for heavy reading during the most difficult times in order to explain what would be best and how to handle things without going crazy.
A manual for life that would be personal for each individuals needs and desires without compromising on anyone else and their own needs, desires and lifestyle. Yet, with that, the rules to maneuver through this complex world of various religions, love, relationships, politics, greed, and corruption you could follow and be able to get what you want out of your life without hurting or inhibiting anyone else and their own needs and desires.
The manual would be continually updated and current and in relation to every other living entity in order to comply with the inherent, self evident, universal truths that exist underneath the ego based confusion. Those universal truths that get so misconstrued and misguided through the mishmash of conflicting ideas and ideals that exist in our world today. Something that we each could access at any given moment in order to guide us all through the maze of life.
If you have ever purchased anything from IKEA you might know that it is fairly easy to assemble their items by following their pictorial directions. Those directions that work despite any language necessary to be read. Although, if there are parts left over due to the assembly or packaging oversight, by the inclusion of extra screws or plastic hole plugs, the confusion begins and self doubt of what may have been overlooked takes hold.
But Life's manual would have no missing or extra parts. You have all you need in order to do for yourself and what it is you desire for your individual life. Sometimes it may be necessary to turn the page of the manual and move on to the next section, even though you may feel that there are things missing or incomplete. You might be thinking there are missing parts, but there are not. The parts are there. It all continues on. Sometimes there are moments when you might think that a problem is overwhelming and is out of control and you can't seem to find the page in the manual on what to do, but it might be on the next page and you just need to turn the page.
There are times when others try to tell you how to live your life, but their own directions and instructions are coming from a different manual, with a different set of desires and outcomes which make it irrelevant to your own manual and your own life. Our own manual is an individual set of rules and directions for each of us in order for us all to have what we all want and need and cannot be run using someone else's manual.
This manual would never be lost or stolen It could never be left under the sofa, or accidentally sold at a garage sale. It would be easy to pack or carry for a vacation or business trip. It could be seen clearly either in the daylight or the darkest of night. The manual would be visible even through the heaviest of tears to help you through some of life's hardest moments.
The manual would have all of the answers you would ever need, even if you quickly changed your mind. It would be instantly updated and transfer the appropriate information necessary so as you would always have the relevant instructions as you "do" your life.
The manual would give each of us those necessary instructions for our lives without creating discord for others. It would allow us all to live a harmonious existence regardless of each others paths we choose. It would matter not in a belief or dogmatic structure for any sort of solution.
I know it is around here somewhere. I had it once, I know I'll find it again.

10 Commandments, Seven day week, 365 day year...
The 10 commandments come from Exodus 20:1-17. Here is the verse:
And God spoke all these words, saying: "I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
1. You shall have no other gods before me.
(okay, so the dude wants to be a dictator)
2. You shall not make for yourself any carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate me, but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.
(Dude, jealousy is not a good trait to have. I don't have children...)
3. You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain.
(well, there goes everybody...)
4. Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your manservant, nor your maidservant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates. For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.
(there goes the Europeans, since many of them have a 32 hour work week. And there goes most American's since our country declared a 40 hour work week and many have a two day weekend for yard work. Of course, for the Maya or native Indians, and the like, that now shuts them out due to the fact that Dude made it a seven day week and calendar due solely to this commandment. Forget that we had to figure out how manage to create a 365 day rotational year while trying to manage this 7 day thing mathematically)
5. Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the Lord your God is giving you.
(I honor my folks, but there may be some that don't since they may have been molested, beaten, locked in closets, "no wire hangers"...)
6. You shall not murder.
(Most do abide by that one, but there goes Bush...)
7. You shall not commit adultery.
(most abide by this one, but there goes most politicians...)
8. You shall not steal.
(there goes Bush for the year 2000 and 2004...)
9. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
(Come one really? People talk behind others backs all the time...there goes everyone I have come across...)
10. You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor’s."
(ok, there goes any women due to either their lust for Brad Pitt or Denzel Washington and there goes any men for Halle Berry or Angelina Jolie...I know that jealousy is not very becoming, but it's ok for Dude to be jealous, but we can't? See #2...what about the whole same image thing...)

Is Religion Ridiculous?
You must note that I did not title this "Is God Ridiculous". That is where your mind may have gone to first. That would be the ego getting in the way of this discussion. I thought that I would use the following trailer, for Bill Maher's new movie "Religulous", to augment my discussion a few days back entitled "I'm conCERNed about Religious Dogma". I simply wish to elaborate the idea a bit through humor as the topic can be very touchy for so many people throughout the world.
Again, as we discussed in yesterdays entry "Mobs, Messiahs, and Markets, on my..., of the great book and recent winner of the GetAbstract Book Award, by Bill Bonner and Lila Rajiva, I used the famed F. Scott Fitzgerald's quote, “The test of a first-rate intelligence is the ability to hold two opposed ideas in the mind at the same time, and still retain the ability to function.”
This is what we need in order to have a reasonable discussion on religion. As religion still holds such a powerful force in how politicians throughout the world act and react with one another, either together in conversation or through each owns policy decisions, it is time that we all must take a closer look at ourselves and our part in how we react to religion. Even though many may not know much about, not only other religions of the world, but even the finer details of our own structured dogmatic beliefs we follow, we must separate our ego from those discussions to lead us to a more enlightened and educated place.
Since it is such a personal issue for billions of people throughout the world, who can have very radical differences in the dynamics of their individual beliefs on the same topic, it must go without saying that we need to be able to transcend a singular mindset in order to create the necessary discourse over such a delicate topic to reach educated decisions based on doctrines of faith, to which there is no defined validated truth to substantiate any dogmatic belief structure, of any religious sect throughout the world.
For those that may not be familiar with Bill Maher, he is an American stand-up comedian, television host, political commentator, actor, and author. He hosted the late-night television talk show "Politically Incorrect" on Comedy Central and ABC, and is currently the host of "Real Time with Bill Maher" on HBO. He is one of the current leading political and social observational satirists. As for as his religious beliefs, he is not an atheist. Bill was raised in his Irish American father's Catholic religion, and did not find out that his mother was Jewish until his teenage years; his family stopped attending church when he was thirteen, because of his father's disagreement with the Pope's position on birth control.

The evolution of Intelligent Design...
We have seen through the Bush Administration, due to baby George's beliefs and religious followings, the constant barrage of mis and disinformation to the public regarding science and its study of evolution and religion and its beliefs of creationism. There is a difference between theories of science and beliefs of creationism. Theories are many facts that have been studied and cross examined by scientists from around the globe independently to reach a common truth. Religion is a common truth given to people through dogma, time, and repetition of discussion and thought of a topic and information to which no other new evidence has been discovered or delivered in over two thousand years. Also, these beliefs are hearsay, at best, as they are so old and no true tangible evidence exists.
By this I am not stating that Jesus, for example, did not exist. He is on record as a man in Galilee and was a carpenter and great public motivational speaker. I am simply posing that there is no tangible evidence that he is the son of god. I am not saying that god does not exist, but there is no tangible evidence to state otherwise...Or is there...
I must state that through a recent discovery of a new galaxy we must keep things into a perspective. Where did this come from? How did it create itself so quickly. To read more on this issue you can visit Sweteno response #2 from TAO, and the subsequent blog entries following this one and see that there is a god. Does this god have any preference to the human specie? Does this god have a preference to ANY specie or is there simply an ideal that is being experienced and monitored. Would there be any type of interference on god's part in any way or does life play itself out, such as Darwin suggest. This is to say that there may certainly seem to be a being, or beings, that are far greater than anything that we can imagine doing some amazing things out there, but evolution also exists. Period!
This blog information I am referring to is just a valid as the belief of Intelligent Design, as well as, creationism. Although, some that will read through this blogs information and comments to find the basis of my point in fact may state otherwise. I would ask why?
Again, back to topic...Darwin, through historical, scientific, paleontology and genetic research and discovery we have found his theories to be right on. There is verifiable proof of his initial discoveries through fossils, carbon dating, and genetic data that show an evolution of thousands of various species to another over a period of millions of years on the planet earth. We have also found much evidence and proven theory of the 13 odd billion years of age of the universe and 4.5 billion years of age of our earth.
But, this doesn't bode well with George's beliefs of Intelligent Design. Which, all in all, is a contradiction of terms to think that President Bush could first of all understand or see Intelligence or Design. Let alone the combination of the two. His own intelligent design of the Iraq war has shown us that he is not as intelligent or creative as he would like us to think he is...
Through the constant misquoting and dis informative rhetoric of this administration we now have a society that nearly 50% do NOT believe that Darwin and the theory of evolution are real, true and proven. There BELIEF in Intelligent Design or creationism still stands firm even though there is NO basis for their belief. To think that the earth was literally made in seven days with all the living entities as they are is preposterous and unbacked by any proof. As carbon dating and genetic research shows us this is not the case. But what this administration is best at is convincing people through constant mis and dis information of a "new truth" because they say so.
McCain has been cornered recently in a town hall forum as to his negative voting record toward Veterans. He countered these accusations with blatant lies as to his impeccable voting record in support of our troops and their health and financial needs. The Vietnam veteran making the accusations pulled out a paper containing McCain's voting history on Veteran issues and asked if he should read them off to him and the audience. McCain countered with his desire that other Senators would help him by voting for more Veteran support on upcoming issues in order in the future and went on to another question. His thought was that despite his failed voting efforts in favor of veterans he could brainwash the public by simply stating that he was behind them and voting on their behalf. This is NOT the case.
The public believing McCain's lies would fall in line with Intelligent Design as they refuse to look at the evidence in front of them.
I do believe that there is something bigger than any of us that certainly plays a part in the continuing saga of our universe. But, this is not to say that this entity has any doings with anyone on a daily level and involved with the micro management of our lives. This is where Darwin comes in. Whatever and whenever this entity creates, its creations are then left to make the truth as they may hope to see it become on their own. And with billions of other planets in billions of other galaxies we are left to only hope that this entity will have the time to come back around our way at a point when we are around to experience them. For proof or for validation? Whichever your beliefs follow...

Where is Robin Hood and Little John?
In the days of old
when knights were bold
and the only currency was gold
the lord's, and the kings
with all of their rings
would buy up all of their things
for the cleavage filled breasts
to believe they were best
the wars were fought to the test
of testosterone
that made them all feel so alone
until they marched their way back home
Doug Boggs, 2008
From the top of my head...
I will continue to ponder what it takes to right the wrongs we have brought on ourselves. At this point, anyone in our time whom has witnesses these past 30-40 years I would think would begin to understand that war is not good government policy.
It does create good economics for the war mongers. Think of Halliberton, Bechtel, Blackwater, KBR, DynCorp International, L3 Communciations, Fluor Corp., Perini Corp., Tetra Tech, General Dynamics, and so many more. There is nothing wrong with a company trying to make a living, as this is capitalism. Although making a living by finding or creating wars that kill millions of innocent people and destroy an entire country's infrastructure is simply repeating what Hitler, Stalin, Pol Pot, Mao and others did. Our current administration has shown us that we simply have another leader trying to make society as a whole the way that they see it in their eyes.
In our ever changing (or is it) and shrinking world it would be best for the various governmental organizations to work together and bring societies and governments together. The past seven years have been dominated by an administration that is living in the past. Mr. Bush and Mr. Cheney truly feel that if they ruffle their feathers enough the people of the world will still think that Amerika is the all around global leader, as we have been since 1945.
Those days are over people, and there is NOTHING wrong with that. To know when to stand down and work to unite people makes a much better man, woman and human being than simply trying to instill ones own beliefs on others and shoving it down their throats.
We, as Americans, have had to be recipients of this wrath as well. The fear based propaganda wheels must stop turning. I just don't believe that God, the one that I know of, told Mr. Bush that he was to attack Iraq. This is preposterous. Is there more than one God? And even still what ever happened to our separation of church and state. Keep your politics political and your religion separate. This is why the Middle East has been in chaos for tens of centuries as that region has been ruled through a faction of religious political systems for eons.
Now, McCain is on the same track to keep things more of the same. This has got to stop!
It doesn't take but only a moment to stop and listen to the words of so many of the prophets such as Jesus, Buddha, Mohammad, Ghandi, Martin Luther King, Jr. and others that they are all saying the same things. I don't seem to remember that kill and destroy for the betterment of democracy, capitalism, and the dollar is any part of their messages...
